1. Using rerolls to obtain legendary parts
Legendary parts are the most difficult to obtain. Therefore the question is how best to use rerolls to obtain legendary parts from chests that do not have legendaries on first opening.
A few observations assuming that the chance of obtaining legendaries is the same as that for opening a new chest:
- The cost of obtaining legendaries by rerolling Common Chests is very high: 9x or more of that from other chests!
- Champion chests are the best (average cost of 42), followed by rare chests (80), epic chests (100), and uncommon chests (111)
2. Using rerolls to switch legendary parts
Generally when receiving legendaries on opening a chest, it is possible to switch these for other legendies by rerolling. It may make sense to do this in the hope of receiving “better” legendaries e.g. replacing legendaries that have already been maxed out with those that have not.
This costs less for lower level chests e.g. the cost of switching out legendaries from a common chest is 1 compared to 50 for a legendary chest (see table above)
